Every alley, an artist's chef d'oeuvre,
Paintings made and unmade,
Riotous is an ingenious mind,
Incendiary when empty.
A coffee ruthlessly motivates,
Her hair - red, lusty, suborn,
Loud as her enunciated amor,
Eyes - hidden, lest you burn!
Brain, cognizant by habit,
Collects trivial flashes,
Brush drips in the mightiest red,
The red of unrequited dreams.
love the last verse!
ReplyDeleteAh, your words painted the picture beautifully!
ReplyDeleteExpressed well, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great interpretation from this prompt...
ReplyDeleteI feel this is more about the artist behind the pen/painting than the painting itself. Nice.
ReplyDeleteinteresting poem and fits the prompt nicely..the middle stanza my favorite.
ReplyDeleteUnrequited dreams... I think we all have these! This was wonderfully written and lovely to read!
ReplyDeleteI was also very struck by the palette of colours in this painting and feel that you've really achieved a wondrous poem for the prompt!
ReplyDeleteSo many reds in this painting...I like how you made beautiful use of them...
ReplyDeleteYes, word painting indeed and very well done.
ReplyDeleteThanks people. :)
ReplyDeleteAn array of reds as I read! Being one myself, too!
ReplyDeleteThe red of unrequited dreams is a great line!
ReplyDeleteI love the notion that the woman's eyes are hidden because they're too powerful to see.
